CAPSI’s GIS Industrial Planning Tool enables detailed, multidimensional mapping of entire industrial systems, including the location and contact details for a region’s communities, governments, planners, businesses, natural resources, infrastructure, and topography.
All industrial systems are tied to geographic locations.  The ability of stakeholders and the public to connect with an industrial system such as rail transportation as it evolves and lives in a place is a critical and useful way to understand value and progress.

CAPSI [https://capsi.ontracknorthamerica.org/index.php/Industrial_Action_Plans#Geographic_Planning_Regions Geographic Planning Regions] are local, corridor, state/province, regional/multi-state, national, and continental.  This is our lead page for designing and managing Geographic Information Systems in order to support CAPSI goals.
Mapping the components of industrial systems, including the stakeholders involved and affected, enables their efficient redesign and investment, reducing waste and negative impacts. Stakeholder dialogues can be organized logically, and the relationships and logistics between physical locations can be optimized for efficiency.
